Additional Educational Needs Coordinator – Whole School


We are currently seeking an experienced Whole School AEN Coordinator. The responsibilities include designing and delivering interventions with students in the classroom and implementing the school strategy. The AEN Coordinator will work closely with members of staff at all levels, will consult with and advise Key Stage Leads, form tutors, mainstream teachers, parents, the Head of AIM (Access Inclusion and Mentoring) and the Principals on opportunities for AEN development across the school. They will work collaboratively and effectively to embed AEN into teaching and learning to support the needs of students with additional educational needs.
The role will ensure that the AEN function supports or empowers teachers with differentiated strategies to meet the learning needs of individual students to give effective assessment and share relevant feedback with students and parents. The emphasis will be on individualised, appropriate and motivating learning opportunities for all, to help students apply concepts through differentiated classroom instruction and presentations.
Working closely with the SLT, the Head of AIM and other senior colleagues, the position holder will use leadership skills to manage the provision in the school and provide support to other AEN staff.
The candidate must be a qualified SEND teacher with a teaching qualification/degree from a reputed institution with specialisation in Special Education, preferably a Master's degree and experience of working with students with learning difficulties in a mainstream classroom. The candidate should be able to read and interpret psycho-educational reports and communicate effectively to parents and teachers.
A minimum of 10 plus years’ teaching experience is required along with 5 plus years' experience in managing the SEND/AEN provision in a leading international school.
