We are currently seeking an experienced Whole School SEN Coordinator. The responsibilities include designing and delivering interventions with students in the classroom and implementing the school strategy. The SEN Coordinator will work closely with members of staff at all levels, will consult with and advise Key Stage Coordinators, form tutors, subject teachers, parents, and the Principals on opportunities for SEN development across the school and effectively embed SEN into teaching and learning to support the needs of students with learning differences.
The role will ensure that the SEN function supports or empowers teachers with differentiated strategies to meet the learning needs of individual students and give effective assessment and share relevant feedback with students and parents. The emphasis will be on differentiated, appropriate and motivating challenges for all, to help students apply concepts through differentiated classroom instruction and presentations. Working closely with the SLT and other senior colleagues, the position holder will use leadership skills to manage the provision in the school and provide support to other SEN teachers. Should also be able to manage and operate the learning centre as a head of the department.
The candidate must be a qualified SEN teacher with a teaching qualification/degree from a reputed institution with specialisation in Special Education, preferably a Master's degree and experience of working with students with learning difficulties in mainstream classroom. The candidate should be able to read and interpret psycho-educational reports and communicate to parents and teachers.
A minimum of 10 plus years’ teaching experience is required along with 5 plus years' experience in managing the SEN provision in a leading international school.
